I started doing Ancestry research in 2009 after graduating from High School. In the same year, I found out about Ancestry.com, signed up, and got addicted to it ever since. My grandmother on my mom's side, had done some ancestry work herself, but never on Ancestry.com, and when she died in 2012, I used her research that she had written and that helped me out a lot of figuring out our family tree. And I was surprised on how expanse my family tree became as I got more experienced with Ancestry.com. On my mother's side, on the Washburn surname, I was able to go to back to the Viking Era, and found out that we're related to some of Royal Spencer's Family ( to Princess Diana Spencer ). I also found that we're related to Julia Child ( 10th cousin ) on the Washburn side, and many other famous relations. I have also found a few Washburn's Seth and his sons Seth Jr and Joseph Washburn who were all soldiers who fought in the Battle of Bunker Hill. As well as a Explorer on the Washburn/Lanford-Doane Yellowstone Expedition, Henry Dana Washburn who was one of the Leaders of the Expedition to Yellowstone National Park in the 1870s, and so on and so forth.
My name is Ellen Rutila. Have been doing Ancestry research since 2009, and been doing it ever since. I'm also a violinist, jewelry maker and Graphic Designer.
